Deep rolling tools
Our deep rolling tools are mainly used to improve the component strength of rotationally symmetrical workpieces and components. In the automotive industry, deep rolling and roller burnishing have been used successfully for several decades in the machining of crankshafts, as well as on axles, gears, valve stems, screws, bores, bolts and threaded parts.
Roller burnishing tools
Roller burnishing can be used successfully for both non-hardened and hardened steel and cast workpieces. It is an almost dry and environmentally friendly process for surface treatment similar to deep rolling. In addition to the established machining of crankshaft bearings, there are a large number of applications and application possibilities for roller burnishing, and the variety of roller burnishing tools is correspondingly large.
In particular, roller burnishing of crankshaft bearing surfaces has resulted in excellent surface quality in numerous test series in cooperation with our customers. The process for crankshafts can be realized on the proven machine type 7893R with a proven tool concept. Other beneficial surface effects include hardening of the surface layer and strength-enhancing residual compressive stresses.
