Our MOBITURN®3 mobile above-ground wheelset turning machine is designed to guarantee precise, on-demand vehicle maintenance with short downtimes and high vehicle availability. The world's first and only mobile wheelset turning machine, now in its 3rd generation, takes the technology of the underfloor wheelset turning machines and brings it to the rail vehicle as a mobile system.

Application and use

Mobiturn®3 is a mobile wheelset turning machine for on-demand maintenance of rail vehicle wheels, wheelsets, and brake discs in both mounted and demounted condition. It is the world‘s first and only system that comes to the rail vehicle. The Mobiturn®3 can be transported by rail or road to different locations. This ensures minimal downtime and high vehicle availability. In addition to increased effciency in the cost-intensive maintenance of rail vehicles, the Mobiturn also offers exceptional quality and flexibility. HEGENSCHEIDTs many years of experience as the market leader in wheelset maintenance and the proven design basis of a classic underfloor lathe machine pay off here. The patented MOBITURN is now in its 3rd generation and has been extensively revised in both design and appearance. It combines state of the art technology with modern design.

Function

The components on the machine's frame have been rearranged to give the MOBITURN a more compact wheelbase. This makes the machine more flexible in track curves and improves the individual positioning of the machine in the customer's track. The new layout also allows the hydraulics to be moved to the rear of the machine, making the valve terminals more accessible and improving the overall thermal management of the machine. The redesigned roller carriers can now handle wheelsets from 350mm diameter. The machine can be optionally equipped with an automatic lubrication system. This includes the most important components such as: chip breaker, roller carriers, axial rollers, and supports. This reduces maintenance and the risk of insufficient lubrication. Optionally, the system can be equipped with a measuring probe to achieve the extended measurement uncertainty (K=2). On the control side, the modern and powerful SIEMENS SINUMERIK-ONE CNC control is used. HEGENSCHEIDT's newly developed operating software, based on the C++ programming language and the modern Qt application framework, is used to operate the machines.
