Machines for Wheelset Machining: Pioneers, trendsetters and world market leaders

In the field of railroad technology, HEGENSCHEIDT was and is a pioneer and trendsetter in the development, manufacture and supply of machinery and systems for wheelsets and has become a world market leader in this field. For many decades, HEGENSCHEIDT has dedicated its activities to the design and development of wheelset turning machines. Since 1950 alone, HEGENSCHEIDT has installed more than 3,000 wheelset turning machines all over the world. In addition to underfloor wheelset lathes, these include abovefloor machines in flatbed and portal design as well as universal wheelset lathes. The production program also includes presses for the assembly and disassembly of wheelsets and automatic diagnostic systems for measuring the wheelset condition during overrun operation.

Wheelset Diagnostics: Fleet monitoring of any size 

Increasing operational requirements and legal frameworks require safe and seamless monitoring of fleets and efficient maintenance planning. The wheelset diagnostic systems ARGUS® and TWM (Total Wheelset Management) developed by HEGENSCHEIDT support maintenance companies in the inspection and testing of wheelsets and in keeping a complete overview of data management, maintenance planning and control of all wheelset-related maintenance processes. The systems are designed for all company and fleet sizes and all levels of complexity.
