FIELDS OF USE AND APPLICATION
The 7627, which specializes in an economical, energy- and resource-saving process for increasing the fatigue strength of components, is the result of the revision of our axis deep rolling machine 7624. Thanks to its various mechanisms of action (smoothing, hardening and residual stress formation), it significantly improves the component strength, operational reliability and service life of wheelset axles and other elongated components. In addition to railway axles, the 7627 is suitable for processing elongated parts in the aircraft, automotive, construction and agricultural machinery industries, among others, and in particular increases their durability and resistance to external influences.
Functions
The mechanical forming process with a small effective zone minimizes tensile residual stresses that arose during the manufacture of the components and generates compressive residual stresses at depths of up to 5-8 mm. The resulting improved surface hardness reduces the risk of damage from foreign objects (foreign object damage), reduces the susceptibility to cracking and improves corrosion resistance. From the user's point of view, this results in longer operating times, extended inspection intervals and higher load capacity of the shafts and other components.
